Sales Tax Holiday Starts Wednesday

A five day sales tax holiday on school supplies will be held this Wednesday thru Sunday.A bipartisan bill signed into law earlier this year created a $100 per-child tax rebate and a five day sales tax holiday. Beginning this Wednesday August 1st through Sunday, August 5th sales tax will not be charged for all school supplies costing $75 or less, computers that cost $750 or less, or computer supplies that cost $250 or less.
The sales tax holiday will be particularly beneficial to families doing back-to-school shopping, but all taxpayers will be able to make purchases of eligible items without paying sales tax.
