Marshfield Man Arrested After High Speed Chase Appears in Marathon County Court

-A Marshfield man arrested after a high speed chase appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.Last week, authorities tried to stop 49-year-old Kyle Wendt near Spencer. Wendt ran from authorities traveling from Spencer all the way into Greenwood and running over two sets of spike strips before stopping. When he was finally stopped on the south end of Greenwood, he refused to get out of the vehicle and appeared to be reaching for something on his seat. Authorities eventually used a Taser on Wendt, pulled him from the vehicle and he still continued to resist arrest.
Wendt is facing a multitude of charges in Marathon, Wood and Clark Counties including fleeing an officer, operating after suspension, OWI 5th offense and more. During his preliminary hearing in Marathon County, probable cause was found so his court proceedings will continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
