Marshfield CNA Charged with Having Sex with a Patient Enter Plea in Wood County Court

-A Marshfield woman being charged for having sex with a patient at the Norwood Health Center appeared in Wood County Court on Monday.According to court records, 23-year-old Courtney Brockman, a nurse’s aide at the Health Center, was caught having sex with a patient on March 25th by a sheriff’s deputy who needed to use the bathroom. The patient initially denied that anything occurred, but, eventually, he showed investigators his phone and they saw numerous communications indicating a sexual relationship with Brockman. Brockman said she knew the relationship was wrong, but she had been having personal problems and the patient became a sounding board for her and their relationship evolved from there.
Brockman is facing one count of second degree sexual assault of a patient and resisting or obstructing an officer. Probable cause was found during her preliminary hearing so her court proceedings will continue. She also entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her. She’s free on a $5,000 signature bond and she’ll be back in court in November.
