Owen-Withee School Board Discussed Meal Prices at Their Meeting

Sunday, July 15th, 2018 -- 6:01 AM

The Owen-Withee School Board discussed meal prices at their meeting on Monday.

The board reviewed lunch, breakfast and milk prices. To comply with USDA requirements, the district must raise lunch prices by $.10. Proposed prices for lunch were $2.30 for kindergarten, $2.50 for students in grades 1-6 and $2.60 for students in grades 7-12. The adult/visitor price will be $3.60. Breakfast price will remain at $1.50. Milk prices will increase by 5 cents per carton, from $.25 to $.30. The new prices were approved on a voice vote. The board unanimously approved an agreement between the district and Clark County to provide mental health services in the district’s buildings.

This is a program that, for the past two years, has been very beneficial to students. Finally, the board unanimously approved a base wage increase of 2.13% for the 2018-19 school year. The increase will actually be 1.92% on base wage and 1.92% on supplemental pay. The OWEA had previously approved the agreement.
