State FFA Safe Tractor Operator Contest Held on 1st Day of 2018 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Wood County

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -A Lake Mills High School student has won the State FFA Safe Tractor Operator Contest.

Colton Klecker placed first in the event, which was held Tuesday in conjunction with Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Wood County. The competition is scored by the individual's ability to perform various tasks while driving a tractor, as well as the results of a written test. Aaron Dukelow of the Abbotsford FFA was named runner-up in the contest, and Matt Walz from River Ridge FFA placed third.

Other finalists who competed yesterday were Logan Ruesch, Abbotsford; Collis Bays, Adams-Friendship; Brandon Jakobi, Granton; Dyan Marsolek, Independence; Hunter Wendt, Manawa; Jordan Krause, Marshall; Justin Martin, Mosinee; Zack Sievert, Pulaski; AJ Loefer, Reedsville; Luke Specher; and Kyler Loehrke. The purpose of the event is to promote and encourage safe and skillful farm tractor operation, in addition to providing members an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of tractor maintenance and safety.
