Menomonie Man Enter Plea in Jackson County Court for OWI

-A Menomonie man arrested after running from officers near Black River Falls entered a plea in Jackson County Court on Monday.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, back in March, troopers from Northwest Region, Eau Claire Post arrested Jared Knutson for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, 4th offense. Knutson was traveling west bound on I-94 near Millston, when he rear ended another vehicle. The lead vehicle collided with several trees and came to a stop in the median. Knutson’s vehicle entered the ditch and started on fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.
Knutson fled the crash scene on foot, but was taken into custody a short distance from the crash scene without incident. During his court appearance on Monday, Knutson waived his preliminary hearing and, during arraignment, he entered a guilty to plea a charge of 4th OWI. Three other charges were dismissed and read in. Knutson was set to be sentenced as well, but he requested some time to conslute with his lawyer, so his sentencing was postponed until this Friday.
