Augusta Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault of a Child

(WQOW) -An Augusta man who pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault of a child, will spend time behind bars.According to WQOW, Thursday in Clark County, Gary Watenphul, 56, was sentenced to 20 years in a state prison. He'll also serve 12 years of extended supervision upon his release. Watenphul was already on the sex offender registry before this latest case.
In addition to staying on the registry, he was ordered to have no contact with anyone under 18, and may never go to parks, schools, playgrounds or pools.
