Thorp Woman Sentenced for Possession

-A woman arrested during a drug bust in Thorp was sentenced in Clark County Court on Tuesday.Back in February of 2017, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Thorp Police Department and the West Central Drug Task Force executed two search warrants in the City of Thorp. The search warrants were executed at 600 North Washington Street and 303 ½ North Church Street. The search warrants were a result of an ongoing drug investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Thorp Police Department. There were several arrests and a child was placed into protective custody by Clark County Social Services. One of the people arrested was Melinda Blasel.
Blasel pleaded guilty to possession of amphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC. She was sentenced to 18 months’ probation and owes the courts $297.
