Clark County Board of Supervisors Approve Several Appointments

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a few appointments to begin their meeting on Thursday of last week.The board approved Steve Amacher to the Village of Withee TIF District, Fritz Garbisch to the Village of Granton TIF District, Scott Jalling to the City of Owen TIF District, Diane Feiten and Kevin Flink for the IT Steering Committee and Diane Fetien as the IT Steering Committee Chair. The board then heard a report from West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. They also heard the 2017 Annual Reports from the Forestry and Parks Department and the Ag & Extension Office. The board also had the 2nd reading of amending the Clark County Shoreland Protection Ordinance. This needed to be done to meet the state’s current statute.
The board also approved a resolution supporting the closure of commercial assessment loopholes. Essentially, the resolution is Clark County’s attempt to combat what is known as “dark store loopholes.” This results in significantly lower property tax on those properties by large scale commercial retailers. Finally, the board approved an amendment to their Clark County Boards, Committees and Commissions Ordinance, which would put to board members to be on the committee with the Committee on Committees.
