See a Cranberry Marsh Up Close at 2018 Farm Technology Days in Wood County

Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 -- 9:06 AM

-Have you ever seen a cranberry marsh up close and personal?

If not, you will get that opportunity at Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, being held July 10-12 in Wood County. The show's Cranberry Exhibit, located within the Marshfield Clinic Health Systems Innovation Square, will showcase multi-generational heritage, family farm pride, and the American spirit of farmers and growers alike. The interactive exhibit will consist of a flooded 10’x20’ bed of floating cranberries, a 10’x20’ dry bed of cranberry vines, an information booth with product sampling, agriculture and nature education tent, and a cranberry equipment display area. Visitors will be able to learn how cranberries are grown, enjoy the versatility of the cranberry, and walk through history by observing cranberry farming technology advances.

The flooded bed of floating cranberries will be open to the public for an interactive tour in hip boots from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m. Wisconsin boasts a thriving agribusiness economy and Wood County is the number one cranberry-producing county in the state. There are approximately 5,000 acres of cranberries in Wood County. Farm Technology Days is being co-hosted by D&B Sternweis Farms and Weber's Farm Store/Heiman Holsteins, just west of Marshfield.
