Clark County Emergency Management Department Offers Tips to Stay Safe During Floods

-With the heavy rains and flooding over the weekend, the Clark County Emergency Management Department is offering some tips to stay safe.If you encounter water over a roadway, turn around and find an alternate route of travel. You have no way of knowing what the condition of the roadway is and you could become trapped in a washout and be hurt or even worse lose your life. If you live in a flood prone area remain alert to conditions and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.
And, like with all preparedness, make a plan, have a kit and be informed. Have the emergency supplies you need and know where to get local emergency information such as warnings. Use of a NOAA All Hazards Radio, or weather radio, is an excellent source.
