Asphalt Bids and More at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 -- 10:12 AM

-The Neillsville City Council discussed a few items at their meeting on Tuesday.

During the Public Works portion of the meeting, and then again during the regular Common Council Meeting, they discussed some asphalt bids and the Emerald Ash Borer Tree Project bids. Also, during the regular Common Council Meeting, they discussed the resignation of Officer Nicholas Pope. They also heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, filling pot holes, maintaining street lighting, cleaning brush and compost, opening storm drains and some street sweeping has begun. The department also dealt with the snow and ice removal from our last big storm. The city’s Water Department and Cemetery and Parks assisted with the snow removal from that storm. A truck and operator was also contracted from Opelt Trucking to help with the storm.

Some other Public Works projects are continuing to move forward as well. The council also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from their meeting on April 12th. They discussed new events, beer vendors, bands, sponsorships, Miss Neillsville, Tim’s Toyz, volunteers and help needed, movie night, pottery and the Business After 5.
