Owen-Withee School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Jr/Sr High School Dean of Student Julie Van Ark reported that Mrs. Jaskot and five students will be attending the State Student Council Convention in Green Bay on April 22nd and 23rd. April 20th-21st will see Mrs. Serocki and ten students heading to Madison for the State Forensics competition. Junior Prom is Saturday, April 21 from 7-11 PM at the Munson Bridge Winery and State Solo and Ensemble will be held at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, May 5th.
District Administrator Bob Houts reported that the grant for school security, just passed by the state legislature, will be coming out in the next week or so. $100 million is available for facilities, professional development and mental health/school culture. The Department of Justice must allocate the funds before June 15th, the timeline for the application is very short. The district, in conjunction with CESA 10, will be submitting a grant proposal.
