Wood County Hosting 2018 Farm Technology Days, Final

Thursday, April 19th, 2018 -- 11:31 AM

-Wood County will be hosting the 2018 Farm Technology Days in July.

Farm Technology Days is being held from July 10th-12th and hosted by the Sternweise and Heiman Families. I spoke with Pat Sternitzky, of the Wisconsin Ag Connection and Chair of the Wood County Farm Technology Days Promotions Committee. Pat ended our interview by talking about some other fun items regarding Farm Tech Days.

"We're doing a couple of fundraisers. We're having a raffle with a chance to win $500 or $1,000 in cash. Tickets will be drawn and you don't have to be present to win. Some of the other prizes include a green egg, which is a fancy grill, and a stainless fire pit. So, we're selling raffle tickets and the neat thing is that every raffle ticket has a $1 Culver's Coupon on the back of it. So, even if you don't win, you still get something out of it."

"Another fundraiser is we are ordering customized benches this year. So, for example, a farm or a family or an individual orders a bench and one side of the bench will have the Farm Tech Days logo and the other side has your farm's logo or your name or whatever. The benches will be used at the show and then after the show, it's yours to keep. And you can customize colors and that information is online as well."

"Of course we're selling t-shirts and toys. A lot of times there's a Farm Tech toy that we sell, so those are available as well. So, we encourage you to check out the website and we have a really active Facebook page. We really hope to see you out there in July, the 10th, 11th and 12th in Marshfield."

"And you know, studies show that the largest crowd that comes out to Farm Tech Days is within 150 miles of the host farm. So, last year it was right up against Lake Michigan. The year before that it was on the Illinois border. So, being in Central Wisconsin and the host families being prominent in the community, we're expecting a really good turnout this year."

Once again, Farm Technology Days in Wood County is being held July 10th-12th and hosted by the Sternweise and Heiman families, just outside of Marshfield.
