Owen City Council Approves New City Clerk

-The Owen City Council approved the appointment of their new city clerk at their meeting last week.The council approved the mayoral appointment of Deputy Clerk Carol Devine to City Clerk. During the public opinion portion of their meeting, one resident voiced his opinion that Carol Devine is not a CPA and demanded that Dennis Looker resign. The council also moved to explore the options of Owen and Withee working together to form a joint police force. A committee will be formed with members of both communities involved. The council also tabled the Position Schedule Bond Insurance Renewal until further information is available.
Finally, the council approved the city clerk to open an account with Time Federal specifically for donations for the Growin’ Owen project. This account would enable people to make donations to the project from the Growin’ Owen Facebook page. The city clerk and the mayor would be the signers for this account.
