Marshfield Common Council Races for Next Tuesday's Election

Wednesday, March 28th, 2018 -- 8:01 AM

(WDLB) -There will be a minimum of one new member of the Marshfield Common Council after Tuesday’s election??"but a maximum of three.

Ed Wagner is stepping down from the District-Five seat he’s held since 2006, and Steve MacSwain is running unopposed for that seat. Meanwhile, there is a race for one seat on the Council. Current district-seven incumbent Jason Zaleski is being challenged by David Peterson. Zaleski got involved two years ago when Gary Cummings decided not to run for re-election. And Zaleski says he’s enjoyed the experience, and has made real connections with the residents in his district, and he wants to continue those efforts.

Meanwhile, current District-Six Alderman Tom Witzel is running for Mayor, so if he wins that election, his seat would open up??"and the Council would have to appoint someone to fill Witzel’s unexpired term. There are three incumbents running unopposed as well. Aldermen Mike Feirer, Chris Jockheck and Tom Buttke are facing no opposition this spring.
