Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the resignation of Matt Hessel from an elementary teaching position, Patrick Kyle from an elementary music teaching position and Dawn Voss from her support secretary position. They also approved the hiring of Sara Rosewicz for the assistant cross country coaching position. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Scott Schiller reported on attendance, the Cuddle Up with a Book Night that was held on February 26th, the EduClimber Summit on held on March 12th, summer school offerings, teacher in-service on March 29th, Forward Exam Testing April 4th-20th, Severe Weather Awareness Week April 9th-13th, and 4K Registration and Open House on April 20th. High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, scheduling for the next school year, spring sports season, upcoming spring events, the Academic Letter Ceremony on March 14th, a blood drive on March 27th and the Cloverbelt Scholar Athlete Banquet on April 4th.

He also reported on the Cloverbelt Scholar Banquet on April 11th, the 4th-7th grades’ field trip to the Festival of Nations, the 8th grade field trip to Madison on May 18th and testing updates. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on the Friend of Public Health Award from the Clark County Health Department, the Medford Legislative Meeting, the new MMC/MCHS partnership and Grab n’ Go offerings for grades 7-12. He also reported on the Blue Ribbon Commission studying school funding, a school safety proposal and two Focus articles.
