Committee Reports at Owen-Withee School Board

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the committee reports at their meeting last week.The board heard the Meet and Greet Committee Report. The committee discussed a wide variety of topics including summer school incentive, coaches pay and pay for summer workshops. Mrs. Wendler reported to the board on the progress the committee made in approving three pay increases designed as incentives for teacher participation. The board unanimously approved a $300 incentive to any teacher who works all three weeks of the June summer school session, an increase in coaches’ pay that will be split over two years and an increase in the per diem for summer meetings/conferences approved by the principals. They also heard about the Merit Pay System. Mrs. Amacher reported to the board on the progress made by the committee to develop a system to provide incentive pay for teachers who go above and beyond the classroom activities. A list of activities was developed along with the concept of a point value system. The next step for this committee is to share the list with the staff and get their input.
They board also heard some communications. Mrs. Wendler read thank you cards from Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Martine for flowers and memorials and the staff for the $15 Christmas gift the district gave teachers who purchased staff clothing from the staff store. Finally, the board discussed teacher non-renewals, the maintenance/custodian hiring process, the IMC hiring situation and the CPI increase for teachers and support staff. No formal action was taken.
