Marshfield Man Officially Charged with Sexual Assault

Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 -- 1:10 PM

(WDLB) -A Marshfield school bus driver has been formally charged with having illegal sexual contact with a minor during a New Year's Eve party which he was hosting.

53-year-old Herbert Andres made his initial appearance in Wood County Circuit Court earlier today, where he was charged with sexual assault of a child by a person who volunteers or works with children. He's currently free on a 10-thousand dollar signature bond. Court documents indicate several students interviewed by police told investigators Andres supplied alcohol, and was drinking heavily at the December 31st party. One 18-year-old student said Andres also started touching students inappropriately, and also removed his shirt. A 17-year-old female student said Andres touched her buttocks and her breasts, and also tried kissing a 16-year-old boy before attempting to pull him into a bedroom. The boy said he called his mother for a ride home soon after that. The boy also told police he received several text messages from Andres later that evening, asking that he return to the party. Andres has also been accused of using social media since his initial release on bond to try reaching students, despite a judge's order against contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Wood County Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr. has granted a request that Andres be allowed to have supervised contact with underage relatives over the upcoming Easter weekend. No future court dates have been scheduled. Andres had been driving school bus for Marshfield Bus Service. His status with the company is unknown at this time.
