Owen City Clerk Retiring After Almost 15 Years

Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 -- 9:02 AM

(Sentinel and Rural News) -The Owen City Clerk is retiring after almost 15 years of serving the Owen Community.

According to an article written by Travis Rogers of Sentinel and Rural News, City Clerk Terri Ernst tendered her resignation on March 6th and will serve through April 6th. Ernst said, “I am leaving the City of Owen because I have received many blessings since the first of the year that have given me an opportunity to leave the city and pursue other interests. I will continue to put in hours here and there at city hall as needed. My intention is to help my fellow co-workers through this transition with all the knowledge I’ve gained in the last 15 years.” While she is not looking for a job in the foreseeable future, she does intend to attend college in the fall, perhaps to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Wellness.

She also has no immediate plans to leave the area, but she is looking forward to doing some traveling and visiting family and friends. “I always knew that I would not be a city clerk for the rest of my career life. I just needed a miracle and that time has come,” she told Rogers with a smile.
