Four People Ejected from Vehicle During Jackson County Accident

Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 -- 9:04 AM

-Four people were ejected from a vehicle after a rollover crash in Jackson County.

According to the Hixton Fire and Rescue, the crash happened around 4:30am Sunday morning on Highway 121 near Ellingson Road in the Township of Northfield. The initial investigation shows a pickup was traveling east when it left the roadway and rolled several times. The driver, 24-year-old Carson Scholze Merrillan, and the three passengers, 26-year-old Stephanie Wathen of Hixton; 20-year-old Cody Miller of Humbird; and 20-year-old Cole Young of Humbird, were all ejected from the vehicle.

When the authorities arrived, they immediately requested two helicopters and four ambulances. Wathen and Young were transported to the hospital by ambulance and Scholze and Miller were flown by helicopter. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. The case is still under investigation.
