Wisconsin Pork Association Announces Winners of 2018 Youth Pig Project

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin Pork Association has announced the winners of its 2018 youth pig project program.Twenty-three $50 scholarships were presented youth throughout Wisconsin. Some local winners include Heidi Strey of Osseo and Elizabeth Zimmerman of Osseo. The Wisconsin Pork Association Youth Committee developed the program to assist youth in developing pork production projects for 4-H or FFA. The committee wanted to enhance project development, while hoping to educate more youth on careers available within the Wisconsin pork industry.
To apply, Wisconsin youth submitted a Pig Project Scholarship request to WPA which addressed project goals, a simple budget for the project, Pork Quality Assurance certification date, future goals as they relate to the pork industry, and a paragraph stating why the Wisconsin Pork Association should select them for the Youth Pig Project.
