Final Town Hall Meeting For Proposed Wood County Jail On Wednesday

Wood County residents will have another chance to learn about a proposed $56.2 million jail at a town hall Wednesday before the County Board makes its final decision June 15.   

According to the Marshfield News Herald, the Wood County Jail Study Adhoc Committee will hold its final town hall at 6 p.m. Wednesday at American Legion Post 54, 2100 S. Maple Ave., Marshfield. It will be the last presentation before the issue goes to the Wood County Board for a vote on June 15.  

In 2001, the Wood County Board failed to get the three-fourths majority it needed to borrow money to pay for a new jail.
