Neillsville School Board Discusses Co-ops

Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 -- 12:08 PM

-Co-ops started out the Neillsville School Board meeting on Monday.

First, the board discussed a hockey co-op with Black River Falls. This is something the district did last year and there are several other districts involved in this co-op with Black River Falls. The board was discussing the co-op because there was a price increase this year. The district has to pay $1,125 for girls to participate and $825 for boys, but they still won’t provide transportation. No formal action was needed by the board on this item, but they decided to have the district pay the bill this year and they’re going to look into creating a policy regarding sports co-op to try and keep costs in check.

They also approved the football co-op with Granton and the cross country co-op with Granton as the Granton district does have students interested in playing both football and cross country again. Neillsville normally has a volleyball co-op with Granton as well, but there are no students interested in participating next year, so the co-op isn’t needed.
