Neillsville City Council Approves Poll Place Workers

Thursday, December 14th, 2017 -- 8:59 AM

-The Neillsville City Council prepared for next year’s elections at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved the poll place workers for Neillsville’s wards for the 2018-19 elections. They also accepted the resignation of Randy Anderson from the Planning Commission and approved a $1,500 donation from Robert Johnson to the Neillsville Police Department’s K-9 Fund. There was one appearance at the beginning of the meeting as well. A resident voiced her concern over the new hospital. She supports a new hospital being built, but she worries about the sewer line that would need to be extended to connect the new facility to the city’s sewer system and what the cost of that could end up being to the city’s taxpayers.

The council also heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, snow and ice removal, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes and more. Leaf pick up is also complete, the water department is reading meters, they cleaned up stump grindings and more.
