-During the holiday season, we often reflect upon our past year and give thanks for the positive things in our lives. This is especially true for staff members at Memorial Medical Center as the Foundation for MMC is proud to announce the completion of our current employee giving campaign “I Care”. “Each year we ask our staff members to make a donation, through payroll deductions, to the Foundation. The program is voluntary and aimed at giving back to our community” state Shelley Janke, Foundation Executive Director. Proceeds from the campaign are used for several initiatives throughout the year.
Examples of items funded in the past year with funds raised through employee giving included surgical instruments for the OR, Audiometer for hearing tests, draw chair and phlebotomy carts for the lab department, and a pediatric gym for occupational therapy patients. In total, over $36,000 was collected in pledges from staff member of MMC during the employee giving. “The end of the year is a perfect time to make that last gift that can impact hundreds” commented Janke.
