Owen-Withee School Board Hears Administrators' Reports (District)

Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 -- 11:30 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.

District Administrator Bob Houts stated that the board’s teacher negotiations committee will meet with a group of teachers on Wednesday, November 8th at 4:30 PM to do a Meet and Greet. The possibility of an increase in sparcity aid that was in the governor’s original budget, but got cut out, is being brought back as a separate piece of legislation. If passed this could mean and additional $48,000 in revenue for the district. District administration is in the process of submitting a grant to the Clark County Community Fund to help offset the costs of the maple sap project in the school forest. The board gave a verbal approval for submitting the $1000 grant application.

Finally, it was reported to the board that Jona Hatlestad was injured in a fall in her classroom a couple of weeks ago. During the communications portion of the meeting, the board thanked the teaching staff for the treats that were provided as part of Wisconsin School Board Week. Mr. Houts notified the Board that Travis Engel and students will be traveling to Green Bay November 10th and 11th for an overnight trip to the FFA 212/360 conference.
