Neillsville School Board Report

The Neillsville School Board approved the 7-12 Handbook at their meeting on Monday.

There were a few noteworthy changes including the athletics portion being removed entirely from the regular handbook as student athletes receive that information when they decide to participate in a sport. They also added some information regarding in school detention. With this policy, students who repeatedly get in trouble may have to serve an in school detention during the regular school day. Some other changes in regards to formatting, wording and more were also suggested. The district has also made some changes to their cell phone policy. Students can no longer have their cell phones in the class room. They must be kept on silent in their lockers.

The board also approved to release the funds of the class of 2017. The total amount was $842.29. The board also approved the Wisconsin Morning Milk Program which provides funding from the state to the district so they can provide milk in the morning. They also approved the Federal Milk Program which provides funds from the federal government to provide both morning and lunch milk. The board also approved the Food Service Contract for the district.
