Owen-Withee School Board Hears Report on Facilities Project

The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on the facilities projects at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Bob Houts detailed the progress being made on the various projects, both Act 32 (Energy Efficiency) and Fund 10 projects. Most projects are either completely done or approaching completion. A snafu with the roofing project left two small sections above the high school IMC not being redone. This will be corrected through the Act 32 funds. Some errors in the door replacement project will be corrected the third week of August.
Also two vendors will be submitting bids for the district’s insurance. The Insurance Center, their current insurer, will bid for Community Insurance and Spectrum Insurance will represent EMC. Bids are due by September 1st. The board will select an insurer at the September meeting with renewal being October 1st.
