Marshfield Common Council Approves Developer's Agreement for New Facility

Friday, August 11th, 2017 -- 7:24 AM

(WDLB) -The Marshfield Common Council voted 9-0 Thursday night in favor of a developer's agreement with P-C-A, and Mayor Chris Meyer says the deal has the city committing just over three-million dollars up front to assist P-C-A in building a 15 million-dollar facility in the Yellowstone Industrial Park on the city's southeast side.

The deal will relocate 80 jobs currently in Colby, and create 20 new jobs as well. The P-C-A plant in Colby is the company's top-performing facility nationally, but it's also outdated, and it's land-locked--with no room for expansion. The Mayor said Marshfield was one of at least two cities competing for the new P-C-A plant. The other one is thought to be Abbotsford. Meyer said a Marshfield businessman tipped off the city back in early June that P-C-A was on the hunt for a new location, and city staff jumped into action in early July to come up with an incentive package for the company.

The new P-C-A plant in Marshfield will be in the range of 230-thousand to 270-thousand square feet. Construction is scheduled to be completed in late spring or early summer of 2018, with production starting in the new facility by the end of next year.
