Clark County Extension Office at the Clark County Fair, Part 1

-The Clark County Fair begins next week and the Clark County UW-Extension Office is hard at work preparing for it.I spoke with Melissa Kono, CNRED Agent, and Chris Holler, 4-H Advisor, and they talked about some of the events they’re doing at the fair. Chris began the interview by talking about the many, many events happening with the 4-H at the Clark County Fair.
Chris: "We have 18 clubs in Clark County and so this is like their pinnacle of the year, the Clark County Fair. For, not only the animals they've been working with, but also the projects they've been working on. So, with those clubs, before they even get to the fair, they have some opportunities to help promote the fair, which is the signs that you may see out on Highway 10, 98 over by Loyal, 73, County N, County K, so they've got a lot of signs out, which is awesome. Which is fantastic because they're taking control of that."
"And then to beautify the fairgrounds, just a little bit more, they do planters, which requires them to start work on this back in May if they want their plants to grow and bloom and be great for the fair. So, those will be coming in on Tuesday, but before we get to the fair it will be fairground cleanup this coming Saturday, August 5th."
