Two Arrested for High Speed Chase Appear in Jackson County Court

Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 -- 9:03 AM

-Two people from Wisconsin Dells arrested after a high speed chase in Jackson County appeared in court on Monday.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in June, a deputy tried to pull a vehicle over on N. 5th Street in Black River Falls for a minor traffic violation. However, when he activated his lights, the vehicle sped away. The pursuit continued onto I-94 and reached speeds of 110 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle and a crash occurred. Both occupants jumped out of the vehicle and a foot pursuit began. They were apprehended a short while later.

Dakota Funmaker, the driver, was arrested for OWI, obstructing an officer and felony fleeing and Jordan Funmaker, the passenger, was arrested for obstructing an officer. Dakota waived the reading of the complaint and time limits on preliminary hearing and he’ll be back in court next week. Jordan did the same and he stood mute in court so a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He’ll be back in court later this month.
