Owen-Withee School Board Approves Creation of Fund 46

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved the creation of a Fund 46 for the district at their meeting last week.The board approved the creation of Fund 46 for the financing of capital projects in the future. Funds may not be touched for 5 years and projects must be completed within 10 years. The creation of this fund allows the district to save money from year-to-year without losing state aid or revenue limit authority.
Also, as a continuation of the health insurance consortium that the District got involved with this past year to help lower cost of health insurance, the board approved moving to the next level of involvement by entering into a state-approved cooperative. This approval means they will be a part of creating the bylaws and charter of a formal organization deigned to represent the group of schools in the procurement of health insurance. The formation of the cooperative is to be completed by July 1st of 2018.
