Owen-Withee School Board Approves Lunch Price Increase

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved increasing lunch prices at their meeting last week.The board approved increasing lunch prices by 10 cents for the 2017-18 school year. This increase in needed to continue their involvement in the USDA food program. The board also approved a 50 cent increase in the price of breakfast for 2017-18. The district started their breakfast program in 2002. Prices have remained the same since then. This is the first price increase in 15 years.
Lunch prices will be $2.20 for 4K and Kindergarten, $2.40 for grades 1-6, $2.50 for grades 7-12 and $3.50 for adults. Breakfast price will be $1.50. Students/families who qualify for reduced lunches will pay $.40 for lunch and $.30 for breakfast. The board also approved a 10 year capital improvements plan that includes things like construction, renovation, vehicle replacement and repair. The creation of this plan allows for the creation of Fund 46, which will allow the district to save funds for the projects.
