Greenwood School Board Hears/Approves Health Insurance Coop

-The Greenwood School Board heard about a couple “thank you” letters that will be sent out for donations to the district at their meeting on Monday.“Thank you” letters will be sent to Forward Financial Bank for the $2,500 donation from the Half-Court Shot Event and Chad Bogdanovich for the monetary gift for Middle/High School Athletic Department. The board also heard a couple presentations. The first was from Jamie MacDonald from M3 regarding an overview of the proposed health insurance cooperative. The 2nd was from Marie Eckdahl, Tera Horvath and Stephanie Lukawski regarding the grades K-5 recommendation for the new math curriculum/program. They recommend the Math Expressions program and teachers are very excited about this program.
The board also approved the motion to join the new health insurance cooperative being formed through M3. This coop will include 11 other school districts. This move is intended to provide more stability in health insurance costs for the district. They also heard an update on the 2017-2018 district budget development.
