Some Local Farmers Selected for America's Farmers Grow Communities Program

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Over four dozen Wisconsin farmers have been selected as winners in the America's Farmers Grow Communities program, which is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.Each of the winners chose nonprofit organizations in their areas and directed a $2,500 donation to each one. The purpose of the program is to help make a positive impact in farm communities by partnering with farmers to support the causes that are important to them in their communities. Since the program began in 2010, producers have directed more than $26 million in donations across a broad cross section of organizations that reflect the makeup and character of rural America.
Some local winners include Brian Bolstad of Gilman, Richard Meyer of Unity, Donald Rowe of Granton and Delores Gabler of Augusta. Among the recipients of the funds were fire departments, FFA and 4-H groups, and rural school districts.
