National Public Health Week April 3rd-7th, Part 1

Monday, March 27th, 2017 -- 11:23 AM

-In recognition of National Public Health Week, April 3-7, the Clark County Health Department encourages you to…take charge of your health!

The Clark County Health Department is encouraging you to schedule time with your Provider at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, Our Lady of Victory Hospital, part of Ascension, in Stanley, Marshfield Clinic or wherever your health care provider is located to discuss what screenings and exams you need and when you need them. I spoke with Rebecca Rosandick, Health Educator/Public Health Specialist with the Clark County Health Department, and she talked about Public Health Week.

"During the first week of April each year, the American Public Health Association brings together communities from all across the U.S. to observe National Public Health Week. This year, Public Health Week runs Monday, April 3rd through Sunday, April 9th. During this time, we recognize the contributions of public health, raise awareness about public health and prevention and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation's health along with the health of Clark County. Like many other national days and weeks that are dedicated to raising awareness, Public Health Week has a theme. And this year, the Clark County Health Department will focus on the importance of preventative screenings."

Coming up on Tuesday, Rebecca will talk about the different screenings you can receive in order to take control of your health.
