CDC's Report at Owen City Council

Friday, March 24th, 2017 -- 8:03 AM

-The Owen City Council heard the CDC’s report at their meeting last week.

Tim Swiggum reported Brian Riley-Ehlers should have the borrowing resolution for the Heartland Project ready for the next meeting and construction is moving right along. The application for the T-Grant has not been submitted yet. TIF #4 is progressing well and the cash generated by the TIF should be enough to pay for the rail installation in full. He also said there is a new interested party in the Agri-Business Park/Commercial Park. It is a high-water user and the city’s and Withee’s current water system will handle it with no problems.

He also stated that construction would occur in 2018 and will bring 50 jobs to the area. Training for building strong towns will be held and if any other council member is interested in going along with Tim. Finally, the Owen-Withee Community Expo will be held April 1st, at the Old High School gymnasium.
