Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

Sunday, March 19th, 2017 -- 6:18 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ reports at their meeting on Monday.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on some political news including recent federal decisions have further muddied the transgender issue and the Supreme Court has pushed a case back to an appellate court. At the state level, as currently proposed by Gov. Walker for districts to receive “new” state school aid, all employees in school district will need to pay at least 12% toward health insurance premiums. Also, there’s still no indication of any interest for a write-in candidate for Area 2. The Health Insurance Cooperative model looks very positive and a representative from M3 will present to the board at the April 10th Board Meeting. Finally, the NEOLA final draft review and edit will be completed soon. The Final Complete District Policy Manual will be ready for April adoption.

High School Principal Todd Fisher followed up with additional comment on the afterschool program and math presentation. A draft of the summer school program was also presented to the Board. Finally, the board presented their reports. Mark Shain reported on a CESA 10 meeting and the Legislative Forum held in Medford on March 6th. The Employee Relations Committee met on March 7th and the group continues its work on updating and improving the Mentoring Handbook. Their next meeting is April 4th. Finally, the Co-Curricular Committee met on February 15th to begin the 3-year review of the Activities Code. The goal is to have the review completed and approved before July 15. Their next meeting is March 15.
