Granton Village Board News

The Granton Village Board heard the water report at their meeting on Tuesday.

According to the unofficial minutes, the public service report was completed for the auditors. Results for the water samples submitted last month came back favorable. These are samples taken every 5 years. It was reported that some residents commented about the chlorine levels being higher than normal. The village turned down Chlorination levels at well 4. They also heard the waste water report. Phosphorus compliance continues to be the topic of focus. An employee met with the school custodian and head cook to discuss phosphate free chemicals. He also has two informational handouts to include in this month’s utility bill for village residents.

An employee also attended the Phosphorus Compliance meeting in Milwaukee on March 9th. Sampling for Spring discharge has begun. Spring clean-up has begun in the cemetery and around town. Xcel was notified of trees that need to be trimmed. Maintenance this month included new door struts and discharge button and new injectors on backhoe, new oxygen sensors in a truck, and 3 bulletin boards for posting notices were built and installed. A replacement chainsaw was purchased from Tractor Central.
