Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, snow and ice removal, trimming and pruning trees, street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost and more. The Public Works Director also offered reminders about trash bins, cleaning sidewalks after a snowstorm and more. The department has also been awarded a DNR grant to help with their ash tree removal and replacement.
The council also heard the officer’s report. For February, the department had 98 complaints, 47 service calls, 53 traffic citations, 82 traffic warnings, 1 crash investigation, 0 ordinance citations, 11 adult arrests, 2 cases referred to the District Attorney’s office, 3 juvenile cases and 45 parking citations. Some other notable items include some training, the employment of a new officer, a drug investigation and a sexual assault investigation.
