Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies Cleared of Wrong Doing in Shooting

-Three Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies have been cleared of any wrong doing in the shooting of a 50-year-old La Crosse man.Back in January, the three deputies responded to Stanton Creek Road in the Town of Millston, southeast of Black River Falls, in regards to reports of a suicidal man making threats against officers. When deputies arrived, they determined that Donovan Scheurich Sr. was pointing a rifle at them and they opened fire, shooting him a total of 11 times. Scheurich had marijuana and alcohol in his system during the time of the shooting.
The three deputies involved were Evan Mazur, Michael Bartlett and Aaron Johnson. They were on paid administrative leave, but are back on duty now. It was determined they followed the proper procedures and techniques at the time of the shooting.
