Presentations and More at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard about a couple donations at their meeting on Monday.“Thank You” letters will be sent to Mayville’s Market for the donation of the Brat Barn to the school district and to Russ and Nancy for their donation of 6 history books and newspaper clippings to the LMC and History Department. The board also approved a list of 5 volunteers, approved two substitute employees for the Teacher Assistant pool and Food Service and approved a field trip for the Girls Softball team overnight stay in Wisconsin Dells as part of the spring softball tournament.
The board also heard a few presentations. The first was from Stephanie Lukawski and Kim Kolano on a proposed afterschool program at the elementary school. They are currently completing a grant to secure funding for this program. The second was from Brad Helsten, Scott Moseley and Jessica Brown for the grades 6-12 recommendation for the new math curriculum/program. They recommend the “Big Ideas” program. Teachers are very excited about this program. In addition, student response has been very positive. Finally, Board Member Mark Shain was presented with a certificate and pin from WASB.
