Sentencings Continue in Massive Drug Bust

Friday, March 10th, 2017 -- 11:15 AM

(WDLB) -A 14th defendant has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with a 127-pound Minnesota-to-Wisconsin meth conspiracy.

30-year-old Patrick Keenan of Wausau was sentenced on Wednesday. So far, the three-year investigation has led to 19 people pleading guilty in U-S District court in Madison. Of those, 14 have been sentenced, and the remaining five have sentencing dates in April and May.

Investigators say the meth came from the Twin Cities, and was distributed to a network of wholesalers and retailers in Wausau, Merrill, Medford, Abbotsford, Owen, Athens, Eau Claire and Osseo. Over a three-year period, the dealers distributed 127 pounds of meth with a street value of five-point-seven million dollars. Sentences imposed so far total 158 years in federal prison.
