Marshfield Area United Way Allocates Funds

-Marshfield Area United Way will invest $540,000 in community programming over the next twelve months through allocations to local health and human service programs United Way will support throughout the year.Allocations to programs were recently approved by United Way’s Board of Directors upon recommendations made by the Allocations Committee. The committee is comprised of approximately thirty community volunteers formed into three review panels. The panels reviewed program applications and interviewed agencies requesting funding to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the program and to ensure the program aligns within United Way’s focus in the areas of education, financial stability (income), and health.
Some of the 2017 grant recipients include $8,500 to Spencer Kids Group, $25,000 to Soup Or Socks, $25,000 to Marshfield Area Respite Care Center, $79,000 to Personal Development Center Adult Services and $14,000 to Personal Development Center Youth Services.
