Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.

The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, snow/ice removal, opening/cleaning storm drains, maintain street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush/compost, repairing sink holes and more. The Director of Public Works also reminded residents in the city to clean their sidewalks of snow within 24 hours of the snowfall’s end and bring your garbage containers off the curb within 24 hours after pickup. He also stated the Hazard Mitigation Grant was complete.

The council also heard the Beautification Committee Report from their meeting on February 23rd. They committee discussed hanging baskets and approved the flowers, flower colors and other plants that will go into the baskets and planters. The council heard the report from the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting held on February 16th. During this meeting, the board approved a variance allowing the Clark County Emergency Management Department to build a 199 ft. communication tower within a 3 mile zone of Neillsville’s airport which is normally not allowed by ordinance. Finally, it was mentioned that the City of Neillsville and Public Works Department received the 2016 Friends of The Highground Award.
