Neillsville City Council Approves Conditional Use Permit

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 -- 10:12 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved a conditional use permit at their meeting on Tuesday.

The permit is for the Willow Ridge Adult Daycare Center run by the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. They were originally licensed back in 2009, but have had to move twice since then due to properties being sold. They will now move to 237 W. 6th Street. They average about 6 adults per day, but they will be licensed for 10 when they move into the new facility. There is room for growth at the new property and they only have one employee now, but that may increase if they have more people.

The council also approved a new parking rule on a section of South Grand Avenue. Residents living on that stretch of Grand approached Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann about changing that stretch of the Avenue to one sided parking. Currently, there is parking on both sides and that can make it tricky to navigate on the narrow road. After doing some research on the accidents that occurred because of the parking situation, the Chief asked the council to approve the change. The council agreed, so on South Grande Avenue from 8th Street to 18th Street, there will be legal parking on the east side of the street only. The Neillsville Police Department will begin enforcing this when signs are acquired and put up.
