Marshfield Clinic Honored as Firm of the Year for 2016

(Mike Warren, WDLB) -Marshfield Clinic Health System has been honored as its hometown's Firm of the Year for 2016.The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry last night presented its highest honor during a banquet held at Hotel Marshfield. And as the Clinic celebrates its centennial this year, C-E-O Dr. Susan Turney said the chamber's award was a fitting tribute to the great men and women who've provided care at Marshfield Clinic for 100 years.
The criteria for Firm of the Year consideration includes expansion in products and services, and the Clinic certainly met that criteria when it announced in June it was purchasing its longtime neighbor St. Joseph's Hospital. Dr. Turney said the Clinic is excited about the addition. Marshfield Clinic got its start in 1916, when six physicians combined their practices into one. They built their first Clinic building in downtown Marshfield in 1926. The Clinic is now in 50 locations in Wisconsin, and features more than 700 physician specialists and 65-hundred employees. Marshfield Clinic was also honored as MACCI's Firm of the Year in 1980.
