Security Health Plan Offers New Special Needs Plan

Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 -- 9:05 AM

-Security Health Plan’s new Special Needs Plan makes health coverage more affordable.

Medicare beneficiaries in five central Wisconsin counties who also have full-benefit Medicaid may qualify for low-cost health insurance through the new Ally Rx Dual-eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) offered for 2017 by Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc. Security Health Plan developed Ally Rx D-SNP to help improve the health for many of its own members and other Medicare beneficiaries who face health and financial challenges. The plan is available in Clark, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage and Wood counties.

Ally Rx D-SNP features a $0 premium and no or very low costs for medical care and prescription drugs. The only costs are minimal copayments on certain Medicaid services such as dental care and transportation, plus minimal copayments on prescription drugs through Medicare’s Low Income Subsidy program. Ally Rx D-SNP members also get care above what Medicare and Medicaid cover alone, including an allowance toward eyeglasses for routine correction needs and worldwide emergency and urgent care.
