Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the hiring Kelsey Jelinek for a teaching assistant position, Kelsey Poeschel for a teaching assistant position, Ben Perushek for a middle school girls’ basketball coaching position and Courtney Poeschel for a homecoming co-advisor position. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, the music concert schedule, the Friendship Bench in place, Parent-Teacher Conferences, an Elementary Principal Conference, data review days, no school on November 4th, STAR testing, Google Documents and Google Classroom training.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, open campus, a guidance office update, ASVAB testing, PSAT on October 19th, FAFSA on October 24th, and the first day of middle school boys’ basketball practice on October 17th. He also reported on the FFA National Convention on October 18th-22nd, Fall choral concert on October 31st, the first day of high school girls’ and boys’ hockey and girls’ basketball practices on November 7th, the FFA Pancake Feed on November 13th and the first day of middle and high school boys’ basketball and wrestling practices on November 14th. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on school board recognition week, a thank you card from Mary Jurgaitis, September district enrollment, thank you cards from staff members, a press release from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, an article about education savings accounts, a history of river levels of the Black River and a Business After 5 invitation.
